Your teaching experience

Teacher placements range between public and private schools, with students ranging from young learners up to adults. Public school classroom sizes average at 30 per class, while in private school this number can be up to 25.

Your teaching position is classified as A,B or C. These programs affect your working hours, class times and if you are to take on a counsellor role in the English immersion camps. In every program you will have guidance from the fixed syllabus and help from a co-teacher. Many people teach English in Argentina as first-time teachers, gaining hands-on experience and invaluable life skills. Don´t forget about your host family, they will want weekly English tutorials too

This internship offers placements in the best cities of Argentina:

Buenos Aires, Cordoba, Rosario, Mendoza, La Plata, Tucuman, Santa Fe, San Juan, Resistencia, Neuquen, Jujuy, Corrientes, La Pampa & many more!

Outside the classroom

Argentina, being the 8th largest country in the world, might take someone years to fully explore and experience. Outside the classroom your time may be limited, but your travel itinerary will overflow with must-sees! Hike along the Andes mountain range, get soaked while gazing at the Iguazu waterfalls, rock-climb the Cordoba sierra, following in the footsteps of dinosaurs in Patagonia – you get the idea!

Each Friday after class follow the smell towards the neighbourhood ´parillas´ (grills) to taste world-famed beef and cheese-oozing empanadas. When you find yourself in Mendoza hop on a bike and get lost in the sea of grape vines. We hear Malbec is cheaper than water around there…

Make use of your monthly stipend of $300 for any costs outside of home and school. With your food and accommodation included, use any savings you have towards travelling the length and breadth of Argentina. Buses range from $10-$100, depending on where you go, but hostels are pocket friendly at $5 per night.

Once your teaching location has been confirmed you can adjust your budget accordingly; the variety of placement options between large urban cities and rural country towns will result in you and your fellow interns living and breathing as true Argentinians.
