If you have ever fantasized of exploring the Amazon, tracing colonial history or just want to swim on the no.1 beach in the world (Baia do Sancho), enroll and teach English in Brazil with us today!

For 4 months your Brazilian host family will show you what it truly means to be Brazilian, but don´t worry if Portuguese isn´t your forte, we give you free weekly Portuguese lessons!

Starting with a 5 day orientation you and your fellow TEFL teachers will enjoy all the sights, sounds and smells of Sao Paolo. The food, coffee, art, music, nightlife and people are what draw millions to experience this city each year. Did we forget to mention football? Expect a surprise around every corner.

Whether you are a first time teacher or have spent hours in a classroom this internship is perfect for you. We include our 240 hour master TEFL course as part of your pre-arrival training. Once you step into that classroom you will question why you hadn’t thought to teach English in Brazil sooner.

Getting there

Successful applicants will fly into São Paulo Guarulhos International Airport. Hop on the shuttle bus to the city centre where you will be picked up by our dedicated Brazil team.

What do you need to organize?

  • International flights: return flights are a must
  • Police check: Each applicant must have a clean criminal record
  • Budget: Each applicant covers excursions and meals outside of school hours
  • Travel insurance: Comprehensive cover for travel & medical insurance
  • Vaccines: Consult your doctor
  • Visa costs:  Each successful applicant will apply for a Brazilian student visa. This process is arranged by our Brazil team who send current university students the necessary documents. Alternatively, university graduates are enrolled onto an online university teaching course giving the status of ´student´. 50% of the online course fee is sponsored by the school with the balance of R$250,00 ($75 USD) paid by the teacher.

Your teaching experience

We offer one of the most rewarding teaching experiences in Sao Paolo, as you give English lessons to students from disadvantaged social backgrounds. This is an opportunity for the students, with ages ranging from 15 up to 40, to improve not only their English but also their employment opportunities.

Your working week will span through Monday to Friday, with 26 hours of in-class hours and 4 hours of lesson planning and correcting. You will feel fully prepared to give fun and effective lessons with your 240 hours of TEFL training, and who knows, you might end up spending more than 4 months teaching English in Brazil!

Have a significant other or friend who has itchy TEFL feet? This is the perfect internship for you both! Share this once in a lifetime experience side by side.

All successful applicants will live nearby to the partnering schools in Brazil´s largest city:

  • Sao Paolo

Outside the classroom

Wake up every morning to the smell of pao de quiejo (cheese bread) and freshly brewed coffee. At the weekends go on a cachaca trail with your friends, dance the afro brazilian samba, even go to a bar run by Osama bin Laden (we were surprised at this too, but look it up!).

Sao Paolo is likened to New York when it comes to art and culture. The city boasts world-famous museums such as the Sao Paolo Museum of Modern Art, the Museu Afro Brazil and countless other must-visit spots. If Architecture is up your street you won´t be disappointed. Better yet give Brasilia, Brazil´s capital city, a visit. It was built in a lightening 41 months!

A city so vast as Sao Paolo surprises people with its large urban green spaces. Get yourself some roller blades or a skateboard for Iberapuera parque and you´ll forget that you live in a city of 12 million people!

One cannot think of Brazil without thinking of two things: Rio de Janeiro and Carnival. Each is a must, and if you can fit the two together even better!

One of the best things about this internship is that you live rent-free in some of the best districts of Sao Paolo. Each month you will be paid a stipend of 1,200 Brazilian Reales (BRL) to put towards food and socialising. For any extensive trips (flights to Rio, boat trips down the Amazon) we recommend putting aside some savings.

Get ready for your next life chapter in one of the best cities in the world. Teach English in Brazil and enjoy the good life!
