Your teaching experience

Our interns are placed in public Chilean schools, working Monday-Friday with weekends and public holidays always off. Your 35 hour work-week will be divided into 28 hours of in-class time with 7 hours of lesson planning on correcting.

Our online TEFL course will fully prepare you to step into a classroom, even if you are a first time teacher. Be part of an international group of interns who love to teach English in Chile!

Dedicate a few hours per week helping your Chilean host family with their English proficiency, they will reward you with love and delicious meals.

Once your orientation in Santiago de Chile is complete you will jump on a free transfer to your teaching location. This internship offers the opportunity to teach anywhere in Chile, up to Arica in the North and Punta Arenas in the South.

Outside the classroom

If you seek full cultural immersion this is the right program for you! Live each day as a local Chilean alongside your host family and eager students. Did we mention you get free Spanish lessons included? Vamos!

The pacific ocean hugs Chile’s coastline for 4,270 km, a surfer’s dream! Journey up north to experience the world’s driest desert, the Atacama desert, followed by a jeep tour to the Bolivian salt flats. Wander along ice fields on Chile’s southern tip, soaking up the history of the ships that once sailed through the strait of Magellan. Sail between Chile’s distinctive archipelago and step into a by-gone world of local fishermen living in colourful Palafitos (look them up!).

Chile is avocado obsessed, turn onto any street and see signs for a mouth-watering completo (hot dog with guacamole)! Wash down with its world famous wines or artisan beers. Who imagined life could be this good!

Your Chilean host family will make sure you never have to worry about rent or food costs, bliss! Your monthly stipend of 70,000 Chilean Pesos (around $100 USD) can be used to cover basic travel costs to school, so we recommend budgeting $250 per month for weekend excursions and travels with your fellow teachers.

You won’t have to think about visa costs either with your 6 month sponsored visa. This really is too good an opportunity to miss out on.
