Assessments for OFQUAL Level 5 Course

As Level 5 courses require learners to attain a 100% pass mark all coursework will be reviewed by the TEFL Institute of Ireland’s academic team upon successful completion of module 11 on the learning platform. A reassessment may be needed if a response does not fulfill the requirements of the question. All written coursework will be assessed and returned to the student within 5 working days and will contain the assessment decision, feedback and reassessment questions where necessary.

The TEFL Institute of Ireland’s students are awarded three separate attempts for the reassessment process following initial coursework completion. Your reassessment answers will be collected through an online form. If this form is attempted or submitted more than once, only the most recent submission will be reviewed by the assessment team. This will be clear through the timestamp of the submission. We do not accept any other type of reassessment submission except for the official Google form sent by your assessor. This includes Word and PDF documents.

Students will receive their first reassessment free of charge as per the TEFL Institute of Ireland’s assessment policy. If a second and third reassessment is needed, a fee of €25 will be charged for each additional re-assessment.

Upon failing all three separate opportunities for reassessment, students will officially be recorded as a fail grade on their TEFL course. Reassessment fees are non-refundable. The assessment process/waiting time for your course review is up to 5 working days.

Students are allowed to request a reassessment extension of 10 working days under exceptional circumstances. Any additional reassessment extensions will incur a fee of €25. Please note that should any changes be implemented to the assessment process employed by the TEFL Institute of Ireland from the time your original assessment review took place and the time of your reassessment submission, you will be required to comply with these changes to validate your qualification.

Updates to the assessment process are put in place to ensure the criteria and standards of this qualification as set by the awarding organisations and Ofqual are adhered to by each learner.

Assessments for Highfield Level 5 Course

As Level 5 courses require learners to attain a 100% pass mark all coursework will be reviewed by The TEFL Institute of Ireland’s academic team upon successful completion of each module on the learning platform. A further assessment may be needed if a response does not fulfill the requirements of the question. All written coursework will be assessed and returned to the student with the assessment decision, feedback and assessment questions where necessary.

There are three assessments in total:

  • Assessment 1: Covers materials from modules 1-3
  • Assessment 2: Covers materials from modules 4-6
  • Assessment 3: Covers materials from modules 7-10

The TEFL Institute of Ireland’s students are awarded a maximum of three separate attempts for each assessment. All assessments will be completed on the Moodle learning platform. Feedback will be provided on the Moodle platform by an assessor under incorrect answers. Learners may submit assessments as many times as you like and only the most recent submission will be marked. If an assessment is submitted after the deadline date has passed (later than 23:59 GMT the day of the deadline), then the assessor will mark the assessment submission closest to the due date (on or before it). We do not accept any other type of assessment submission except for answers on the Moodle learning platform. This includes Word and PDF documents, email submissions or other written forms.

We reserve the right to collect further assessment submission evidence by means of a formal audio or video call at the discretion of the company. In special circumstances, in lieu of a further written assessment submission, the assessor may request to arrange a formal verbal conversation with you to discuss the context of the course. This will be explained in full beforehand.

Students will receive the first two submissions of each assessment free of charge as per The TEFL Institute of Ireland’s assessment policy. If a third assessment submission is needed, a fee of €25 will be charged for each additional submission. Upon failing all three separate opportunities for any individual assessment, students will officially be recorded as a fail grade on their TEFL course. Assessment fees are non-refundable.

All assessments are marked and returned to the learner within 3 working days. This includes repeated assessment submissions, plagiarism reviews and missed deadline reviews.

There are no deadlines for the first submission of any individual assessment except the overall course access time the learner has purchased. As standard, 6 months of course access time is given free with every course, but longer periods can be purchased. All three assessments must be completed within this time or a fee will be charged to extend the course access time.
