1 . Tell us about your school and why your students enrolled in our programme.

This is Coláise Naomh Eoin’s first year enrolling our transition year students in the 120 hour tefl course. Having just launched our transition year programme this year I wanted to make the English programme both beneficial and unique for my students. I felt this course would be an excellent opportunity for them to upskill and to gain a qualification that will serve them for the rest of their lives. We believed that giving the students the opportunity to teach English to non-native speakers in 80 countries to be an attractive opportunity for young people. Particularly as this qualification can lead to unique work experiences all over the world.

2 . How did the students benefit from studying our course?

The students benefitted from studying TEFL in many different ways. They engaged in self-led learning and assessment. They improved their ICT skills, and they gained an invaluable qualification that enables them to teach around the world. I believe this will open many doors for my students and it gives them a sense of independence and inspiration for their futures as both learners and now educators as well.

3 . Would you recommend this course to other schools?

I would highly recommend this course to other schools looking to give their students a unique and invaluable qualification that will last a lifetime.  We believe it gives students a great sense of achievement and it is such an incredible opportunity particularly for transition year teachers looking to take their English classes to the next level.
