Eat Sushi

This goes without mentioning that the absolute best sushi you will probably ever try is in Japan. I mean, it is the birthplace of the food. However, one uniquely Japanese experience that you can only find in Tokyo is at the Tsukiji Market. Early in the morning (4:30 AM) you can visit the largest fish market in the world and watch as people from the top restaurants in Tokyo come to purchase their fish for the day. Watch the madness before heading to one of the nearby stands to taste some of the freshest seafood you will ever have. 

Visit Hiroshima

Although visiting this city brings up a difficult time, no trip to Japan would be complete without exploring this city. Walkthrough the Peace Museum to learn more about the devastating time during the Second World War when the atomic bomb was dropped on this city before wandering through the new buildings that have sprouted up through the ashes of the fallen. 

Explore Temples

Something synonymous with Japan is temples. Japan has countless temples dating back decades, each with its own unique history, design, and significance. Some of the most notable temples are located in the city of Kyoto, the old capital of Japan. Another stunning activity to do in Japan is to view the Cherry blossoms. Every year around April, the cherry blossoms are in full bloom. The trees line the rivers across the country creating some of the most beautiful scenery there is. This picturesque time is truly unique and an absolute must for your time in Japan. 

Visit Hokkaido In The Winter
