The TEFL Institute of Ireland is proud to announce a partnership with The Hope Foundation, an Irish charity dedicated to transforming the lives of street-connected children and vulnerable communities in Kolkata.

This exciting collaboration will connect education with social impact, enabling TEFL Institute students to engage with The Hope Foundation's vital work. Together, both organisations aim to raise awareness and funds to support Hope's life-changing projects in education, healthcare, and child protection.

About Hope

"The Hope Foundation is a registered charity supporting street-connected and slum-dwelling children in Kolkata, India. Their mission is to empower children to break the cycle of poverty and child labour, giving them access to safety, education, and a brighter future. Hope currently funds and operates 30 life-changing projects."

Hope's Mission

"To improve the quality of life for the most marginalised street and slum connected children and communities, primarily in India. To give them back their childhood and protect their dignity of life, through protection, health, education and economic development in a sustainable life-cycle approach."

Hope's Aim

"To support the development of underrepresented sections of society through partnership, support and capacity building programmes. We provide education and skills programmes to give street and slum children in Kolkata the support needed to create better futures."

Hope and Education

Education is at the heart of The Hope Foundation' s mission. They believe every child has the right to an education — it is the key to building independence, escaping poverty, and creating a brighter future. Education gives children the chance to discover their strengths, pursue a career, and escape the cycle of poverty.

By bringing more children into education and supporting them to stay in school, Hope not only changes individual lives but also strengthens communities. With initiatives ranging from crèches and Nabo Asha Centres to special needs programmes, Brian's Way Resource Centre, and Education on Wheels, Hope makes learning accessible to children who might otherwise be denied this right.
