Once you have received your TEFL, the options are endless. Whether you want to teach English in your home country or an exotic place such as Thailand or Vietnam, the possibilities indeed are limitless. Or perhaps you want to show online and continuously travel! Imagine what life would be like as an online English teacher!
Rather than waking up at 7 AM Monday through Friday, you can sleep in and wake up when you feel like it. Start your day when you want to, begin with a coffee or smoothie, depending on where you are in the world! Before setting up your travelling classroom.
As an online English teacher, your classroom is continually changing from a bedroom in Italy to a cute coffee shop in Bali. All you need is your laptop, a good headset, and props. The props vary depending on the age that you teach (whether that be young learners or adults). The best part is that your classroom can easily be set up within minutes and is exceptionally light to bring with you.
Once your classroom is set up, begin your classes! How long you teach will vary each day, depending on the schedule that you decide whether you wish to school during the day or evenings. This will also depend on which platform you use (i.e. an online company that requires a laptop or only your phone). Teach for an hour and then take a long break and attend a yoga or boxing class before returning to work.
Finish teaching for the day only to meet up with friends for dinner. Perhaps indulge in a beer or two before heading home to watch your favourite TV show. While the show plays in the background, plan your next adventure! Now that you work online, you have the freedom to travel and move when you please.
As an online English teacher, you create your schedule. Choose the times that you want to teach and how many hours a week you want to work! Not only that, but you have the freedom to see the world and travel whenever you please! It is entirely up to you! The possibilities indeed are endless.
Where would you go first if you were an online English teacher?!
